Érase una vez, yo era un gran fan de las Tortugas Ninja (todavía lo soy) y, viendo la película, me di cuenta por primera vez de que Nueva York era una ciudad real. Hasta ese momento siempre la había imaginado tan inalcanzable y surrealista como Gotham City, pero fue en ese instante, siendo muy joven, cuando decidí que no había otro lugar en el mundo donde quisiera estar. I always thought of it, up until that moment, as unreachable and surreal as Gotham City, but it was at that instant, at a very young age, I decided there was no other place in the world I rather be and by the age of twenty one I officially became a 'Newyorkino'. New York city streets quickly became my school, and I paved my way into the fashion industry.

Convertirme en estilista de moda...Becoming a Fashion Stylist...
La ciudad me llevó a Victoria Bartlett, estilista y diseñadora icónica, la primera persona que me abrió las puertas de la moda, una verdadera inspiración. Mis prácticas en su estudio me llevaron, más de un año después, a un trabajo en una agencia de modelos como booker y coach. Fue allí donde conocí a tanta gente de la industria: modelos, fotógrafos, diseñadores, agentes de prensa. Y fue allí donde escuché por primera vez que tenía un talento del que no era consciente. Sailey Williams, fotógrafo y director creativo extraordinario, fue el primero en decírmelo, después de que asistiera a una amiga modelo en una sesión de su agencia. Nuestra química en el estudio fue mágica, y me invitó a ser editor de moda en su revista online, XEX Magazine.The city led me to Victoria Bartlett, an iconic fashion stylist and designer, the first person to open 'fashion doors' to me, a true inspiration, and my internship at her studio somehow landed me a job at a modeling agency over a year later, working as a booker and model's coach. It was while working at this agency where I got the opportunity to meet so many fashion industry people, from models, photographers, to designers and PR agents. It was in this place where I heard I had a talent I was not aware of for the first time. Sailey Williams, a fashion photographer and creative director extraordinaire, was the first person to tell me I had a talent for fashion, after I assisted a then aspiring model friend at her agency photoshoot. Our chemistry in the studio was magical, and he invited me to become the fashion editor at his online magazine project XEX Magazine.

This was a creative place where I learned so much from brilliant talented colleagues of the caliber of Chad Groom from The Style Monsters, my bestie and talented photographer Amber De Vos, and one of my favorite industry people Mike Ruiz to name a few. El camino a UALThe road to UAL
Todo cambió cuando me contrataron para asistir a una diseñadora de vestuario en Miami, en una telenovela para Telemundo, NBC Latino. En el momento en que bajé las escaleras del plató de televisión supe que había encontrado un nuevo tipo de hogar. Un estudio de televisión. Ese fue mi primer contacto con la industria televisiva.It was not until I was booked to assist a Miami costume designer in a Latin American television show for Telemundo, NBC Latino, that everything changed for me. The minute I walked down the television studio staircase I realized I have found a new type of home. A television studio. I got my first taste of the television industry.
Volé a Barcelona justo después, a estudiar diseño de vestuario en una academia española para aprender más sobre el mundo de la televisión, pero una llamada de mi amigo y productor latinoamericano Cesar Camacho me trajo de vuelta a Nueva York. Después de estilizar numerosas campañas y videoclips, me convertí en director de moda de Emporia Studio.I flew to Barcelona, Spain right after that, to study costume design in a Spanish academy to be able to learn more about the world of television, but a call from a friend and Latin American producer Cesar Camacho brought me back to New York and after styling numerous campaigns and music videos, I became the fashion director at Emporia Studio.
Empecé a sentir que estaba en el camino correcto, pero en el carril equivocado. Me di cuenta de que mi ambición iba más allá de vestir sesiones y vídeos, y mi curiosidad por el cine y la televisión se hizo más fuerte que nunca.I began to feel as if I was in the right path, but going on the wrong lane. I realized, there was more to my ambition than styling wardrobe in photoshoots and videos, and my curiosity for the television and film industries became stronger than ever.
Estar en un estudio creativo me permitió jugar con mis talentos: dirigí y produje desfiles, pilotos de televisión, campañas y videoclips, y quedó claro que necesitaba cambiar el rumbo de mi carrera. Después de vivir en España mientras me certificaba en vestuario, descubrí una curiosidad nueva por Europa y por cómo funcionaba todo en esa parte del mundo. El hambre de conocimiento se hizo insoportable, y mi búsqueda me llevó a la segunda mejor universidad de arte del mundo: University of the Arts London. Tuve una epifanía: quería ser cineasta. Y otra vez me encontré en una situación donde tocaba tomar decisiones radicales por un resultado extraordinario.Being in a creative studio allowed me to play around with my talents, I directed and produced fashion shows, television pilots, campaigns, music videos, and it became quite clear to me that I needed to make some changes to the way my career was going. After living in Spain while I was working on my new costume design certification, I discovered a new curiosity for Europe and how everything worked in that part of the world. A new type of hunger for knowledge became unbearable, and my research led me to discover the second best art university in the world, The University Of The Arts London. While at Emporia Studio, I had an epiphany, I wanted to become a filmmaker, and once again I found myself in a situation where it was time to take radical decisions for the sake of an extraordinary outcome.
Apliqué a UAL y me aceptaron por mi portafolio. Vendí mi apartamento, guardé lo que quedaba en un trastero y me mudé a Londres a estudiar a tiempo completo el grado en Television and Live Events. Mi buen amigo y productor Cesar Camacho se emocionó cuando le conté que me lanzaba como The New York-INO, narrador y cineasta; me ayudó a montar una sesión de fotos y una fiesta con algunos de mis mejores amigos y colegas neoyorquinos para celebrar la nueva aventura. Quería tomar la esencia de todo lo que me formó profesionalmente en esta ciudad maravillosa y encapsularla en una productora que me permitiera empezar un nuevo tipo de viaje en el entretenimiento.I applied to UAL and was accepted by virtue of my portfolio, I sold my apartment and everything left was placed in a storage unit and I moved to London to become a full time student in the bachelor's degree 'Television and Live Events' program. My good friend and producer Cesar Camacho was quite excited when I shared with him I was launching myself as The New York-INO, a storyteller and filmmaker, he helped me put together a photoshoot and party with some of my best New York friends and colleagues to celebrate the new adventure. I wanted to take the essence of everything that shaped me professionally in this wonderful city and capsule it in a media company that will allow me to embark in a new type entertainment journey.
